There are many options out-there. Affirm is one of the gentlest, with the best results, least complications, best versatility and adaptability to all skin types and possibility of gradual application of treatment without side effects. It has the least complications, close to none.

Q: How many treatments are required to achieve the desired results?

To achieve optimal results the doctor recommends between 4 and 6 treatments, 3-4 weeks apart.

Q: How does Affirm work?

The Affirm gently treats the problem area with enhancing micro-pulses of light, it stimulates and remodels the skin’s natural production of collagen, it  makes the skin appear more youthful while it softens the appearance of wrinkles. Affirm is specifically designed to diminish the effects of aging of the skin. The system also treats discoloration associated with aging skin and over exposure to the sun. The skin looks 50% younger, clearer, and pores are tighter.

Q: Is there a need for maintenance?

Yes in average one treatment every 6 to 12 months according to the situation

Q: How long does the treatment last?

The skin is rejuvenated and the natural process of aging restarts but the ”clock is reset” a few years earlier.

Q: Can anyone have this treatment?

The best candidates for the Affirm treatment are any individuals who have wrinkle concerns, sun damage or redness. All skin types may be treated. Seizures can be triggered by laser and are contraindications for any laser treatment.

Q: Does it hurt?

When being treated with Affirm you may experience a slight prickly or light stinging sensation. Most people tolerate the treatment just fine. It all depends on the individual sensitivity or tolerance to stimulation. For maximum comfort the doctor applies a topical anesthetic. Generally the expectations are higher and disproportionate to the sensation felt and this is typical for the first treatment.

Q: Are there any side effects?

After the treatment, redness and some slight swelling may occur, typically lasting anywhere from 1hr to 2 days. A tan or dusky appearance of the skin can also appear in some patients and may last for 2-3 weeks.

Q: How many treatments are required to achieve the desired results?

8-12 treatments depending on the condition of the tissue—minimum 2 treatments per week, they can be scheduled as close as daily. We can reduce the appearance of the cellulite and dimples anywhere on the body, back arms, legs, knees, ankles, buttocks and neck.

Q: How does Smooth Shapes work?

It is the best product on the market. It combines the principles of laser and endermology. It has 2 lasers in it—one breaks down the fat cell, the other one dissolves the fat and the vacuum in the hand held piece mobilizes and helps draining fat in the blood vessels. New collagen is formed, skin becomes tighter and smoother. The treatment is painless and safe (see the video on our video page).

Q: Can anyone have this treatment?

Seizures can be triggered by laser and are contraindications for any laser treatment. Speak to the doctor about any history of seizures.

Q: How long does the treatment last?

Up to 1 year.

Q: Is there a need for maintenance?

Yes every 2-3 months according to the condition of the skin.

Q: How do they work?

Dermal fillers are treating permanent lines that are not going away when our facial muscles are at rest. They smooth out and restore volume in areas such as cheeks, under the eyes, jowls, lips. Newer generation fillers stimulate the natural formation of collagen.

Q: Are there any side effects?

Generally the fillers are safe. With the use of the natural fillers there are very few side effects. There is a potential for allergic reaction but this can be close to none depending on the type of filler used.  Allergy testing can be done before the filler is injected.

Q: How long do they last?

The fillers used in our practice can last up to 9 months. With repetitive treatments the need for injection decreases the treated area becoming naturally tighter.

Q: How much do they cost?

The price varies according to the type and amount of filler used. The final price is established during a complimentary consultation in our office.

INJECTIONS with neurotoxins-BOTOX

Q: How does Botox work?

Botulinum toxin treats dynamic lines (i.e. the lines that form when we use our facial muscles) and it PREVENTS formation of permanent lines. BOTOX removes the temporary lines. It relaxes muscles and removes wrinkles on forehead, crow's feet eye lines, corner of the mouth, frontal lines, and neck lines.

Q: How long does it last?

It last up to 3 months. For patients that receive treatments regularly the need for treatment is spaced at longer time intervals.

Q: How long does the treatment take?

Treatment can take up to 15 minutes

Q: What are the side effects?

The side effects are very rare. Botox injections are very safe and injections are very well tolerated. Results are noticed at 3-7 days and may last up to 4 months in patients that receive this treatment frequently.

Q: What is the price?

The average price is approximately $300 per area injected.

Q: Which are the areas where spider veins can be treated?

Spider veins located on face and legs can be removed with sclerotherapy and or laser (see AFFIRM above). Both sclerotherapy and laser therapy require 3-6 treatments.

Q: Are there any side effects?

There is a risk of infection and patients are screened carefully before this treatment and especially before the injectable treatment.

Q: How do they work?

We offer medical grade chemical peels. Medical grade chemical peels are medically prescribed and pharmaceutically prepared compounds that are applied on the skin and left a certain amount of time. The reaction of the skin to the compound is observed by the doctor and when the desired topical effect is reached the peel is removed. It is used to remove superficial layers and it improves the texture and radiance of the skin.
